Real Men Samba

And they cry, and change their kids' diapers, and, as my friend Phillip Kuhlman writes, are "not embarrassed to have a vase of flowers on their desks (they can grow them but not bring them to work)."

Read today's column for my take on the other things manly men do.

What's your idea of a real man? Let's start a list.

a real man is not afraid to appreciate the beauty of another man's body. this does not mean he is homosexual. it just means that he appreciates beauty. but is being gay really worse than being a murderer? woman have the freedom to appreciate, and vocalize about, the beauty of other womens' lives. why are men so afraid to do the same with a member of their own sex?

Great column, Annette! I plan to forward your article to a few brothers I know....

A real man has dinner ready when his SO returns home from a day trip out of town. And, then dons yellow kitchen gloves and washes the dishes!

A real man keeps it real. Knows who he is and doesn't try to be anything else.

My thoughts on a real man is one that is strong, yet sensitive; knows how to take charge, yet not afraid to stand back and support their woman; and can be lovable at a woman's TOM (I know, this is corney, but a necessary trait for a good man).

A real man is human: he loves himself and others, he grows, he gives and receives, he laughs at himself, he speaks his mind and he is quiet, he dreams because he has vision, he makes plans and follows through with them in order to achieve goals, he hurts and is open to healing, he listens to silence . . .
